Fulbright Program
Fulbright Student Program
The Fulbright U.S. Student Program offers research, study and teaching opportunities in over 140 countries to recent graduates and graduate students. I was so fortunate to be part of the Fulbright family since it has changed my perspectives while exploring and understanding the world. I have had the opportunity to meet wonderful people from more than 40 countries including India, Swaziland, Saudi Arabia, Angola, Iraq, Italy, Brazil, Pakistan, Indonesia, Russia, Azerbaijan, etc.. some of which are now my closest friends. Meeting these people not only helped me learn about each countries culture including history, dance, traditional clothes, food, etc, but also to value diversity in many forms.
During my time at Western Michigan University(WMU), I served as the Vice president for Fulbright Student Organizations. I was able to organize events and activities centered on humanity, diversity, inclusion, and cultural awareness with the help of the Fulbright committee. International Festival, Fulbright orientation, welcome back parties, Fulbright Handover Ceremony, Potluck Party, Graduation Ceremony, Valentine Night, and other events were among them.
In addition, I also served as the president for Afghan Student Organization through which allowed my team and I to share Afghan culture with the WMU community and people through various events such as the Nawrooz Party and Afghanistan Day. Dance, fashion show, traditional food, games, and presentations were among our activities at the events.
Below are afew pictures from my Fulbright journey (2018-2020).
